Sub: Invitation to be the Chief Guest of the Centenary Celebration of English Literary
Club

On behalf of the members of the English Literary Club (ELC) of St.Anne University, I would like to invite you to be the Chief Guest of the Centenary Celebrations of the ELC, which is to be held on 10 October, and distribute the prizes.

The ELC of our University was stared in October 1909 with just 30 members. In the 100 years that followed, the membership has increased manifold to 2000 at present with students from varied departments. The ELC Club is well known among the college students in the city for the various activities held throughout the year. The activities held include workshops on developing creative-writing, public speaking skills, guest lectures by well-known authors such as Miriam Santosẻ.

The theme for this Centenary year Celebration is “Nature and Literature”. Many contests -essay writing, poetry-writing, debates, creative writing, slogan competitions- are to be conducted giving the members of the ELC an opportunity to showcase their English skills, during September. The winners of these contests in the various categories would be given rewarded on the final day of Centenary Celebration.

It would be an honour for us to have such an eminent author such as you to be the Chief Guest at the Centenary Celebration is to be held on 5 October 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the Grand Auditorium of our University, and give away the prizes.


The University will take care of the expenses incurred during travel and stay in Sunshine Valley. We would be elated if you could be a part of the celebrations. Please let us know about your participation in the event before 10 September 2009 by telephone (112-123456).
